Outback destinations provide a personalised experience and even a chance to get involved in a working sheep station, completing the week with a relaxing stay in the famous Barossa Valley.

Itinerary Description

Days 1 – 3
Clare Valley
Clare Valley is a wine region famous for its boutique Rieslings, its rustic flavour and its authenticity. ‘The Clare’ is home to a working rural community, one which upholds traditions passed down through the generations. If you’re after a taste of country Australia, this is as real as it gets.

Slow things down at North Bundaleer with the following experiences:

  • Take a walk on the property with kangaroos and bird life in the natural Blue Gum environment, or on the nearby Heysen and Mawson Trails
  • Visit the historic mining town of Burra
  • Take a private tour and tastings at a Clare Valley vineyard
  • Meet local pastoralists and farmers to learn about their way of life

Angorichina StationWhilst in the Clare Valley, 2 nights accommodation has been included at North Bundaleer
Marianne and Malcolm Booth, owners and hosts, invite you to come and treat yourself to a unique experience of luxury and relaxation at North Bundaleer, a nationally significant sandstone homestead rich in architectural heritage.

Days 3 – 6
Flinders Ranges
Stretching north from Port Augusta into the sun-seared wilderness of South Australia’s deserts, the Flinders Ranges is one of the country’s most impressive destinations. Nestled in the middle of the ranges, you will discover Angorichina Station, a working sheep station with 140 years of history, 64,000 hectares and a warm welcome for just six discerning guests.

Immerse yourself in the daily life of a working outback sheep station with the following experiences:

  • A private vineyard tour and tasting plate at Hentley Farm Wines
  • Meander through the virtual museum of 19th century outbuildings. During season you’ll see mustering and sheep-shearing in action
  • Take a rugged 4WD tour, or guided walk of the ancient Flinders Ranges. On the property, you can also search for some of the oldest fossils on earth, treasures from the Ediacaran to Precambrian periods
  • Observe wildlife including emus, kangaroos, rare Yellow-footed Rock Wallabies and abundant birdlife
  • For additional cost you may like to take a scenic flight over the region and the amazing Wilpena Pound

Angorichina StationWhilst in the Flinders Ranges, 3 nights accommodation has been included at Angorichina Station
At Angorichina Station, your hosts Ian and Di Fargher provide all personal tours and serve delicious home-cooked meals. Here really is a destination to experience genuine southern outback hospitality in a comfortable, relaxing Australian way.

Days 6 – 8
Barossa Valley
The Barossa Valley is the wine capital of Australia, home to world-famous producers including Penfolds, Wolf Blass, Grant Burge and Peter Lehmann, as well as a host of intimate boutique wineries. Today, it is home to over 100 wineries, with more than 60 of these hosting cellar doors.

You are able to explore the region at your leisure, also included in your 2 days is:

  • A private vineyard tour and tasting plate at Hentley Farm Wines

The LouiseWhilst in the Barossa Valley, 2 nights accommodation has been included at The Louise
Set atop a gentle hill with sweeping vistas across the internationally renowned Barossa Valley, The Louise is an idyllic luxury vineyard retreat encompassing acclaimed on-site restaurant Appellation.

We recommend travel to these regions all year round however it can get quite hot in January and February.

3 nights stay in a homestead double/twin share room including all meals, selected beverages and activities including scenic 4WD tours, guided walks, observing wildlife, station activities & daily guiding and laundry.

The Louise
2 nights stay in a Vineyard Suite, including gourmet continental breakfast. A private vineyard tour and tasting plate at Hentley Farm.
