In this 6 day/5 night itinerary The Tailor has incorporated the best of iconic Southern Australia, offering a visit to The Barossa Valley, our premier wine region, then over to Southern Ocean Lodge on Kangaroo Island for some luxury accommodation, wildlife and beautiful landscapes as well.
Itinerary Description
Day 1-3
Barossa Valley
The Barossa Valley is the wine capital of Australia, home to world-famous producers including Penfolds, Wolf Blass, Grant Burge and Peter Lehmann, as well as a host of intimate boutique wineries. Today, it is home to over 100 wineries, with more than 60 of these hosting cellar doors.
You are able to explore the region at your leisure, also included in your 2 days is:
- A private vineyard tour and tasting plate at Hentley Farm Wines
Whilst in the Barossa Valley, 2 nights accommodation has been included at The Louise
Set atop a gentle hill with sweeping vistas across the internationally renowned Barossa Valley, The Louise is an idyllic luxury vineyard retreat encompassing acclaimed on-site restaurant Appellation.
Day 3-6
Kangaroo Island
Kangaroo Island is famous for its abundant wildlife species and natural beauty. Covering almost 4500 sq km (a third of which is conservation land); the island is relatively free of feral species allowing animal and bird populations to thrive.
See koalas in millennia-old native forests, walk among sea lions on pristine white-sand beaches, watch Ospreys wheeling over rocky headlands…
Along with the scheduled activities included in the nightly tariff at Southern Ocean Lodge, a full day of private touring has been included with Kangaroo Island’s premier touring company, Exceptional Kangaroo Island.
Whilst on Kangaroo Island, 3 nights accommodation has been included at Southern Ocean Lodge
Southern Ocean Lodge is regarded as Australia’s finest luxury wilderness retreat.
The ground-breaking Lodge is built into a remote cliff-top on Kangaroo Island, a design born of peerless views, environmental ideology and air that’s freshly ionised by the pounding surf.
We recommend travel to these regions all year round however it can get quite hot in January and February.

2 nights stay in a Vineyard Suite, including gourmet continental breakfast. A private vineyard tour and tasting plate at Hentley Farm.
Southern Ocean Lodge
3 nights stay in a Flinders Suite including all meals and select beverages. Lodge guided activities, small group airport transfers connecting with scheduled flights.
Exceptional Kangaroo Island touring
Full day of private touring including homebaked morning teas, seafood bbq or local produce picnic lunch, South Australian wines, beer and softdrinks
Travel to/from Kangaroo Island
