Family Focus – Full Day Tour

The Tailor Touring Co > Family Focus – Full Day Tour
Today’s regional experience will begin with a meet and greet at your accommodation by your local guide, before making the short drive to Mount Lofty lookout. The vantage point provided from Mount Lofty is simply breath-taking, and sitting at 710 metres above sea level it provides a clear view of Adelaide city and its surrounds. We consider this the perfect way to begin your tour, as the views provides a clear perspective of where Adelaide is situated and the layout of the city.
After enjoying the fantastic view, travel through the Adelaide Hills to Cleland, a local wildlife park where you are able to get up close with our local fauna including a photo opportunity for holding a koala. This is a fantastic family experience and is the perfect opportunity to view some of Australia’s unique wildlife.
After your visit to Cleland, travel the short distance to the beautifully quaint Hahndorf township. Classified as Australia’s oldest German settlement, Hahndorf’s origins date back to 1839, a detail that can be clearly seen in the charming aesthetics of this beautiful town. Not only is Hahndorf rich with heritage and history, the locals have a fantastic appreciation for creating exceptional quality produce. With a variety of lovely dining options available, enjoy a casual and leisurely lunch in Hahndorf or surrounds before making your way to the Adelaide.
There is also an option to take the family strawberry picking at Beerenberg Farm, a much-loved South Australian producer of sauces, jams and condiments. This experience is seasonal however, so depending on your time of travel, may not be available.
On arrival to the main city precinct, stop in for a privately guided tour at the South Australian Museum. This memorable experience will allow you the opportunity to view the largest collection of Aboriginal ethnographic material in the world, immersing you in the ancient and beautiful culture of the Indigenous Peoples of Australia. The museum also has an excellent array of interactive experiences your children are sure to love.
Depending on your interests and the ages of the children, there are other options to explore in Adelaide before heading back to your accommodation. Head to the Jam Factory, located in Adelaide’s West End Creative Precinct and enjoy a private tour of the unique not-for-profit agency, supporting local talented designers and artists. The highlight of this experience is the opportunity to see a glass smith in action.
Or perhaps you would prefer to visit the Haigh’s Chocolate Factory in Adelaide’s main CBD and enjoy a private tour around the factory. Discovered in 1915 Haigh’s is Australia’s oldest chocolate maker.
After enjoying a day full of experiences available to you and your family in Adelaide, it will be perfect timing to return to your accommodation.
