In a day tour that has been carefully crafted by Justin Nugent who is Global Ambassador of his family’s Bird in Hand luxury brand. This unique Adelaide Hills day takes you to two of the finest establishments in the region for a truly unforgettable and personal experience.
Your day begins with your personal driver picking you up from the airport, home or city hotel at 10:00am. sharp. For all local Adelaide guests, the dedicated pick up point for this tour is the Intercontinental Adelaide located on North Terrace in the CBD.
As you begin your drive into the foothills, it’s literally 10 minutes and you will be amongst the panoramic views this beautiful region boasts.
Your first stop of the journey is world-renowned, and proudly South Australian Beerenberg. Established in 1839, the Beerenberg Family Farm quickly became an Australian household name. You’ll also be invited into the Paech family home, located on the farm and will have a tasting of house made fresh scones and Beerenberg jam around the family table. In a close and intimate setting you will be taken through family life on the farm and how the business has evolved through seven generations into an international pantry staple.
Your departure from Beerenberg will take you to the iconic Nugent family Bird in Hand winery, located in Woodside.
Established in 1997, Bird in Hand was born from the ambitious goal of building one of the world’s great wineries. Inside of a generation, with four tiers of wines for every occasion, they now stand on the worldwide stage as one of the best in their class.
The fabulous Bird in Hand Chef will leave no detail unturned when it comes to your mini-degustation style lunch. With the very best uses of seasonal produce to create an outstanding menu, so you can sample the freshest local and seasonal produce until the very last morsel. Produce is grown fresh on the farm at the winery and chef will explain to you how the meal inspiration came about and what local produce it includes.
Each course will be paired with a glass of wine from the wineries cellar, and each drop will be perfectly matched to what’s on your plate.
