Your private guide will meet you at your Cairns region accommodation in a privately appointed luxury vehicle at approximately 8:30am. The travel day begins with a scenic journey along the beautiful Coral Sea coastline into the wonderful Daintree National Park.
Spend an unforgettable morning with an Aboriginal Guide, who will share their extensive knowledge of the region and indigenous culture. You will be formally welcomed to the land and pay respect to the traditional custodians with a ‘Welcome to Country’, followed by an indigenous smoking ceremony and cleanse – a truly unique indigenous experience. A short walk of the beautiful Mossman Gorge with your guide is included, with an opportunity for a photo of the famous Mossman Gorge boulders under the rainforest canopy.
You then move onwards for another cultural experience at an art centre, focused purely on indigenous art from the local people of the Kuku Yalanji.
Cross by cable ferry and drive up the Alexandra Range and enter the Daintree section of the World Heritage protected rainforest. This is the oldest continuously growing rainforest on Earth. Morning tea is served as you board the boat for a wonderful Daintree River Cruise. Be on the lookout for the extensive array of wildlife including the mighty crocodile.
Enjoy an indulgent lunch set against a rainforest back drop as wallabies roam close by. You may even choose to hand feed the wallabies who have been rescued after injury and nursed back to health.
In the afternoon you will take in the sights, smells, tastes and colours of a tropical fruit farm. Discover the origins, uses, anecdotes and interesting facts of exotic Australian seasonal fruit and let the fruit of The Daintree delight your senses – especially your taste buds!
Join your guide and head out in a four wheel drive to reach a secret location set within the rainforest, where we stop at a swimming hole for a beautiful cool swim in crystal-clear water. Your guide will take you on a rainforest walk to a secret location not shared with any other tours, to help you appreciate the wonder of the Daintree with only the sounds of nature. Look for Boyd’s Forest Dragons hiding on trees and we may be lucky enough to see the local Cassowary.
The return journey includes a stop at one of the famous tropical ice- cream fruit farms where you will be able to taste some of the tropical flavours on the day. (own expense)
The tour concludes approximately 5:30pm with drop off directly to your Cairns region accommodation.
