Your tour will begin with an 08:15am flight from Adelaide Airport to Coffin Bay (on the Eyre Peninsula) in your privately chartered aircraft.
You will be met on arrival to the Coffin Bay airstrip by your private local guide and driven the 10 minutes to the home of the world’s best oyster farms – the incredibly beautiful Coffin Bay. From here your guide will then make the drive out to the Coffin Bay National Park where you will be able to view some of the most spectacular scenery in South Australia. With various species of local fauna – such as the Western Grey Kangaroo, Emus, Goannas (native lizards) and Dolphins – all regularly seen in the bays surrounding the national park, there is plenty to see and experience.
After spending the morning exploring the national park, it will be time to begin the drive back into the town of Coffin Bay. Ben Catterall – restauranteur and oyster farmer – will be the next person to visit so he can educate you about the Pacific and Native Angasi Oysters grown at his oyster-lease. You will soon learn why they are some of the world’s most sough-after oysters, and may even have the chance to don a pair of waders yourself and enjoy a few fresh oysters. Lunch today will be at the Coffin Bay 1802 Oyster Bar and Grill for a relaxing and delicious meal.
After lunch your guide will drive out to Mikkira Station, the perfect place to be able to discover and view Koalas relaxing in their natural habitat. Here you have the opportunity to sit back, relax around the campfire (seasonal considerations will apply) in the original restored homestead, or even head off on a light walk around the station, enjoying the surrounding natural bushland. With a glass of wine in hand, and a platter laden with local produce this is the perfect place to simply relax and enjoy.
On the way back to the Port Lincoln airport your guide will take you on a detour to the Marina Wharf – home to the Southern Hemisphere’s largest fishing fleet. You will also be able to view the diversity of Port Lincoln’s fishing industry’s vessels.
Your guide will then transfer you to the Port Lincoln Airport at approximately 5:00pm where it will be time to board your private aircraft and enjoy the flight back to Adelaide Airport.
