Following an absolutely quintessential road trip, rated as one of the most scenic drives in the World, the breath-taking Twelve Apostles are a must on any Australian Adventure. A day spent journeying down the Great Ocean Road is the perfect chance to get back to nature and marvel at the incredible and diverse landscapes that line the way. See kangaroos and koalas in the wild, feed rainbow lorikeets and king parrots and stroll through charming coastal towns and national parks.
Be met at your hotel by your expert guide for an 8 am start. The drive out from Melbourne is a great chance to share some of your tastes and interests so these can be made a feature of your uniquely tailored experience. Sit back and get to know your guide in a luxury touring vehicle as you enjoy delicious Australian treats, natural spring water and premium skin care products.
Stop by an aboriginal cultural centre (closed Sundays) for morning tea with a uniquely Australia flavour. Hear some didgeridoo, scout for wildlife or learn to throw a boomerang. Enjoy art from around the country in their amazing commercial gallery.
Admire some world class surfing at Australia’s surfing heartland, Torquay, the home of the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach.
Be consumed by the scents and sounds of the wild in native eucalyptus forests. Learn about the 700 different kinds of gum tree, which thrive in Australia, about wallabies, endemic carnivorous snails and early explorers. Like all road trips, this is a perfect chance to share a few stories.
Enjoy 2 course lunch at one of our favourite seaside restaurants in Apollo Bay. Feed wild parrots, spot koalas high in the treetops and search out a mob of local kangaroos. After lunch, you will have the chance to walk the boardwalks at the Twelve Apostles and have your guide regale you with the stories that lend the Shipwreck Coast its perilous title.
You may wish to choose a 15 minute scenic flight by helicopter to view the beautiful area and iconic landmarks from a different perspective. There is an option upon purchase of this Luxury Day Tour to book.
Break up the journey home with a stop for afternoon tea and some uniquely Australian treats. Your fabulous guide (and new found friend) will have you back in Melbourne by 7pm.
