An early start captures the full beauty of this privately guided territory experience.
On pick up you’ll meet your dedicated guide and travel towards the beautiful Kakadu National Park. On the first leg of the journey we’ll cross the Adelaide River and see the floodplains as the sun begins to rise before a comfort stop at the Corroboree Park Tavern.
As we continue towards Kakadu we travel through the Mary River Region then enter the National Park. Crossing the South Alligator River and floodplains we make our way to Ubirr, up in the North Eastern region of Kakadu and bordering Western Arnhem Land.
At Ubirr we take a walk that leads through ancient rock art galleries and shelters, home to some of the oldest rock art in the world and as we move through these galleries your guide will interpret the stories behind the creation of the art and lead you up to the Nadab lookout, which provides us with an amazing view over Ubirr and across the Nadab floodplains and in the direction of Arnhem Land.
Enjoy a picnic lunch before embarking on another fantastic Kakadu experience, as we head to the East Alligator River and join the Guluyambi Cultural Cruise. Here you’ll meet your Aboriginal Guide (Bininj) for an informative, yet tranquil Cruise. This is a chance to learn about the area, history and culture, through the eyes of the Traditional Owners. During the Cruise there is a stop where you will get the chance to step out into Arnhem Land and see for yourself the beautiful expanse of its unique terrain.
On return from your cruise we’ll take a moment to refresh and say our goodbyes before we begin our travels back towards Darwin. With the Sun in the west we’ll take the opportunity to take a few more photos of the surrounding landscapes and points of interest we will pass on our return.
As we arrive back in Darwin your guide will return you to your accommodation at approximately 6:30pm.
