Your private tour of Kangaroo Island will begin with a pick-up from your accommodation* or the Kingscote Airport at approximately 09:00am. You will be greeted by your private local guide before boarding your vehicle and preparing for a truly world-class introduction to Kangaroo Island – or ‘KI’ as the locals call it.
Today’s first point of call is a visit to Cygnet River Valley, this beautiful location is surrounded by stately Red Gum trees and is the perfect place for spotting Koalas in their natural habitat.
After spending some time walking amongst the red gum forest searching for Koalas, your guide will lead you back to the vehicle so that you can move on to the next destination for some morning tea. Enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and home-made cakes in the stunning setting surrounding you.
After morning tea, your tour will continue with a walk through Lathami Conservation park where you will have the chance to learn about the various species of fauna that can be found locally on the island. In particular, make sure you keep your eye out for the endemic Tamar Wallaby and local kangaroo species – these can only be found on Kangaroo Island.
Next it will be time for your guide to drive to the private bush location where a magnificent seafood BBQ lunch will be served. The fantastic affair will include freshly made salads, locally caught King George Whiting (a local species of fish, and one of Australia’s greatest) paired with a magnificent selection of local South Australian wines.
Once lunch has concluded your guide will make the journey out to Seal Bay Conservation Park where you will have the opportunity to walk with your guide amongst the Australian Sea lion colony. This is a rare and wonderful experience that you are unlikely to come across anywhere else.
After Seal Bay you will spend the afternoon journeying through and exploring more of this beautiful island. On conclusion of your tour you will be either returned to your accommodation or to Kingscote Airport in time to meet your flight back to Adelaide at approximately 6:00pm.
This itinerary can be taken all year round, however seasonal considerations may apply and availability will need to be confirmed at time of enquiry.
This tour does not operate on Christmas Day – other dates subject to availability.
Rates are valid from 1 April 2018 – 31 March 2019
