Great Barrier Reef
The Great Barrier Reef is the world’s largest reef system comprising nearly 3,000 individual reefs and 900 islands – it is also the planet’s biggest single living structure made by billions of tiny organisms known as coral polyps. It stretches for over 2,600km, covering approximately 350,000 square kilometres.
Dive or snorkel the famous reef system and see the diverse plant, coral and animal species prevalent in the area.
The Whitsundays is one of Australia’s natural wonders – a treasure chest of 74 emerald islands set in a sapphire sea. The island group lies midway along Australia’s Queensland coast, with the famous Great Barrier Reef reached after a short boat or seaplane ride.
Enjoy a luxury island adventure in the Whitsundays, swimming or snorkelling from the vessel, or stopping off for a land excursion.
Once aboard the options are only really limited by imagination. Flying Fish has an 8.4m tender, medium-sized sports fishing gear, snorkelling gear, a Powerdive underwater diving unit that allows you to dive over the reef using a regulator without having to carry tanks, and traditional diving gear, three single kayaks are also available along with of course the expertise of the crew.
As well as skippers, flying fish has a network or expert guides – including marine biologists, deep-sea fishermen, dive masters, naturalists and historians – who can cater to specific needs.
