Summer (December to February) in Melbourne can be hot, with temperatures ranging between 14 – 25.3°C (57.2 – 77.5°F), however the region is also prone to hot spells and temperatures can reach well beyond 30°C (86°F). Winter (June to August) is the opposite, with much colder temperatures and snow falls in the north-east. Average temperatures during this period are between 6.5 – 14.2°C (43.7 – 57.6°F).
Autumn (March to May) and Spring (September to November) are quite mild in comparison, with temperatures ranging between 90.6 – 20.3°C (49.3 – 68.5°F). These are both favourable times to visit the city.
